Field formatting in a table

When I copy data from an Excel spreadsheet and a cell
entry begins with an " I get a pasting error for that
whole row stating: The field is too small to accept the
amount of data you attempted to add. Try inserting or
pasting less data. If I paste each individual cell, one
by one, I do not get an error. The field type is set to
text with a limit of 255 characters. The entry has less
than 30 characters. Is there a field setting to bypass it
rejecting fields beginning with a "?

Hi Jillian,

Not when you're pasting an entire row. Instead, use File|Get External
data to import or link the Excel sheet.
