Faxing

My brother & I are stumped on getting Win Fax Pro 10 to work with Outlook,
computer, DSL & fax machine. I called tech support for Win Fax and they
recommend using another line to have a fax on because of the possible 'ping'
interference. But.........SBC tells businesses to put DSL on their fax line.
I have an internal modem in the computer that has 14400 bps that I'm trying
to bypass the DSL. Just kind of confused. I have an unlimited long distance
calling plan so I am not worried about using the fax line. In other
words......I don't want to use something like eFax that lets me run my faxes
through their phone lines for a fee.
Any suggestions? Thank you for reading about my problem.

All fax programs require analog phone lines. Period.

With my DSL setup, I can hook my FAX up to a DSL filtering device
(http://www.2wire.com/?p=279) and it works. Now, perhaps I have an analog
line, I don't know, but wouldn't that same type of device work in the OP's
case?

With some DSL connections you can obtain a DSL line filter suitable for
connecting a standard analog voice line to the DSL line and can then connect
an analog fax modem to that line.
