faxing/calling on same phone line

Windows XP fax capability is engaged. It can't
distinguish between incoming fax and incoming voice call.
All incoming is identified as fax, and voice calls are
impossible to conduct due to fax noise interference.
Is there a phone line hookup change or Windows fax setup
change that would permit use of one phone line for fax
and voice?

Windows XP does not support Distinctive Ring. You would need to speak to
your phone company about having a second line installed.

Hello
I have the same problem, all I can find out is you just
have to go into the options and turn off the incoming fax
until I am ready to receive. If you find something
different then post it for me
Thank You

I suspect you need to pay for an 'IDENT-CALL' feature (or
whatever your local telecomm calls it) to provide a
second tone on the same physical phone line for your fax.
