fax with ADSL

I've been told that Win2000 doesn't fax from an ADSL -
must use an analog modem...this sounds like outdated
info... how do I fax using the FAX Win 2000 program when
communication line is ADSL? I have admin priv. The error I
get is 'no dial tone'

Faxing has always required an analog phone line. That's not going to change.
With some DSL connections you can obtain a DSL line filter suitable for
connecting a standard analog voice line to the DSL line and can then connect
an analog fax modem to that line.
