i have been told on a newsgroup that adsl modem do not as a rule support fax
transmissions

Looking past thr item description, I see nothing in the specs states
FAX capability, and no mention of any of the FAX protocols, either. I
really they think made a mistake with the Item Description.

They don't. The technologies between analogue data and FAX modems
are similar enough that they can be put on the same chipset. Digital
modems (DSL/Cable) use a completely different technology.

It was a typo in the product name - as previous replies have said, ADSL is a
completely different technology to normal FAX Modems so ADSL doesn't act as
a FAX like a dial-up modem would.

I've fixed it now - sorry for any confusion!

Hi,

if you're fixing typo's.....
The site also mentions "Support G.922.1, G.922.2 Transmission protocols"
I think that should have been G.992.1 and G.992.2
