Favourites that wont delete! Help

I have a problem with my favourites folder. Somehow, I suspect a program or cookie has been installed on y computer which now installs a number of websites on my favourites list- sites that I have never visited and which are pornographic and very offensive titles. I have deleted them by right-clickin on them one by one and then emptying the recycle bin. However when I start the computer up next time these are back again in the favourites- this is why I think some kind of program has been installed which keeps putting them there every time I switch on. I cant find any obvious program on my hard drive but I dont know what I am looking for anyway!!!
Can someone please help. It is distressing to see this sites evry time i go into my favourites folder and I cannot get rid of them. Thanks!

Try getting a copy of the program "Pest Patrol"...

I can't remember exactly but I think the free evaluation copy will search
your PC and tell you what it finds - but you have to buy the product if you
want it to remove anything for you.
