Favorites suddenly not loading

Hi,
I am in the middle of doing a clean re-install of Windows XP Home. The
Favorites loaded easily into the Start Button and IE 6 after I transferred
them into my user account. Now, as of a couple of hours ago, they no longer
load (and Links is empty). I have recopied them a couple of times from
different locations; then I tried up-grading to IE7. I have not run on any
unusual app's. Any ideas about what is going on? Registry involved?

With Explorer, Right Click any favourite that does not show in I.E. checking
Properties. If Hidden is on turn it off. You can do this multiply for all
items by single click on first then single click on last with you shift
button pressed at the same time, then right click the block of selected
items, to disable Hidden for all.

Dear Will,
A "hidden" attribute was not an apparent problem, but you did get my brain
cells inspired by reminding me about treating files as a block. I was
reluctantly thinking about having to Add Favorites one by one; then I tried
putting a copy of Favorites on the desktop and opening the Manage Favorites
box in IE 7. They dragged right over - and even promptly appeared in the
Start Button. Why this originally occurred or why this method worked, I have
no idea. I'm not sure that this would work in IE 6. But if it works, and it
did, I'll fly with it.

Thanks for responding. Being stuck with a computer problem can be a lonely,
frustrating scene.
