Favorites list icons

The custom shortcut icons which sites like Google, CNN, etc. load when you
add them to the favorites list keep disappearing. When I add the site, the
custom icon is displayed, but will disappear and revert to the
default(explorer e on document) icon. If I overwrite the page by adding it
again, the custom icon is reloaded, only to disappear at any time without
warrning or any hint why. How can I keep the custom icons from disappearing?

Favicons are only temporary until cleared from your cache.
