Favorites folder

Hi. Don't know what someone did on my pc at work but my Favorites folder
from IE browser is empty.
And yet when I look for the folder in My Computer, My Settings it's there
with all my saved links.
Can any one point me in the right direction?
I can't copy all the links from the folder because the Add feature in the
Favorites browser doesn't let you paste more than one at a time.
I could do it one at a time which will take ages, but I would like to know
why and how it got emptied in the browser Favorites when it isn't in the
MySettings.

It may just be the Registry setting that is incorrect.
You can change the value of Favorites in the Registry in these
two keys: (ignore the second if the value is not there)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell
Folders

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders

For Windows 2000/XP:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders]
Set the Favorites path to : %USERPROFILE%\Favorites

The above should be a REG_EXPAND_SZ value, not REG_SZ

http://windowsxp.mvps.org/usershellfolders.htm

FWIW, you can move all the contents of the Favorites folder in one
operation if you use Windows Explorer. There is no need to paste one
at a time or use Organize Favorites.

Thanks Alan.
We don't have administrative rights to go into the registry but I tried
pasting in Organise and it worked. So that'll be the best way to bring all
the links into the Favorites that IE is pointing at.
That was very helpful.
