(snippage)

The athrx.sys file belongs to your wireless network adapter. Uninstall the
drivers and install the latest ones. Get them from Toshiba's website for
your specific model Toshiba computer.

Thank you for your quick response.

Just wondering tho, will I be able to go online if I disable the wireless
adapter?

Also, I did a check to update drivers before getting to this point and it
seems that they are up to date. Do you think that if I disable the driver
then reboot and re-enable it, I can go online to find a newer version?

Thanks again.

Get the newer version *before* you uninstall the wireless adapter or use the
wired adapter.

If you already have the latest drivers, contact Toshiba tech support since
this is their driver and it should just work.

That is not my take on the 0x9F blue screen error in Vista

See the following MS KB
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=929762&sd=RMVP

0x0000009F: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE
(Click to consult the online Win XP Resource Kit article.)
A driver is in an inconsistent or invalid power state. Typically occurs during
events that involve power state transitions, such as shutting down, or moving into
or out of standby or hibernate mode.
a.. 0x0000009F: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE {KB 246243} Win 2000, Win XP
b.. 0x0000009F: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE {KB 315249} Win XP
c.. Computer Hangs During Shutdown Because of Resource Conflict {KB 262575} Win
2000 (during Safe Mode shutdown with PACE InterLok software)
d.. Computer Hangs During Shutdown Because of Resource Conflict {KB 314101} Win XP
(during Safe Mode shutdown with PACE InterLok software)
e.. Stop 0x9F error when waking a Windows Vista-based computer connected to an
IEEE 1394-based device {KB 929762} Vista (external drives, iPod, etc. — hotfix
available)

Hi,

I would add that if you relied on Windows Update to check for updated
drivers (through either the site or by checking for updates via device
manager), then this is not the best route. Driver updates should be obtained
directly from the manufacturer of the device whenever possible, and the
manufacturer second. Windows Update driver offerings are often several
generations old.
