FAST choosing destination on new computer

I want to use Files And Settings Transfer Wizard to move everything from a
laptop to a desktop. Is it possible to make a separate directory on the
desktop (new computer) in which to put everything collected from the old
(laptop)? How do I do this?
I then want to reformat the laptop hard disk and move everything back again
after installing Windows XP. (Laptop now is Me and has had a lot of
problems.)
