FAQ: Color Schemes for Windows XP

E

Eric Reid

I saw a number of posts from users asking how to add more color schemes to
Windows XP (other than blue, green, and silver).

A good solution to this is WindowBlinds. It is designed to allow users to
add additional visual styles to Windows XP as well as enable users to change
the color of them.

Here is a screenshot: http://www.windowblinds.net/wbcolors.jpg

I saw that some MVPs had mentioned a different product that allows users to
patch their uxtheme file in memory to disable Microsoft's digital signature
checking.

WindowBlinds does not disable any of Microsoft's digital signing checking
and is the method Microsoft has used to add additional visual styles to
Windows XP (Microsoft's XBox visual style for example). It is also the only
Microsoft certified way to add more visual styles to Windows XP.

You can download WindowBlinds at http://www.windowblinds.net

Hope this helps!

Spammer! You neglected to mention that it costs $40 to register - the other
way is free. Why should anyone want to load bloatware (and I know it is
because I was a registered user and, boy, did my system ever heave a sigh of
relief when I removed the crap!) when they can have an insignificant patch
for free?!
