fan question

Hello,

On my new motherboard are 4 pins fan connectors for the chassis fan:

1) +5v
2) chan fan in
3) chan fan pwr
4) gnd

But, my tower is old and has a three pin fan connector with:

1) yellow
2) red
3) black

(a DC 12V fan).

How should I connect one to the other?

Your fan would connect to 2-3-4 on the MB. If you look, there's probably a
key to line them up that way.

The numbering is the reverse of what you posted, but you get the idea of the
"key" tab on the MB connector.
