Failure Installing .Net Framework v2.0 Beta1

I tried to install VC++ 2005 Express Beta on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise
Edition 64 bit (Itanium IA64). But it required me to install .Net FrameWork
2.0 Beta1.
I downloaded it and tried to install, but showing an error message
"Error 25008: Unexpected error occurred during assembly installation" when
it gets to Microsoft.VisualBasic.vsa.dll.
This problem has been specified in "Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Beta 1
Readme"(http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/vs2005/get/currentreadme/default.aspx).
But the solution to resolve the issue is not explanatory. All the latest
pathes are already installed and the OS is updated. Please let me know the
solution for this.....

The 2003 RTM build of Windows 2003 64-bit will not run .NET 2.0. There are
prerelease builds for Itanium that are available to test .NET 2.0. The
latest build I know of is build 1218, which is available on MSDN downloads,
if you have access. If not, consider talking to your company's Microsoft
representative, as that is the best avenue for the pre-release .NET 2.0
compatible builds of Windows 2003.

I had the same problem (.NET Framework 2.0 failed to install on Intel's
Itanium). Frankly, I don;t understand why Mirosoft makes code that does not
work available to the public, this contributes to the poor reputation the
company has gained with respect to the quality of the software.
