factory restore

I have brought a laptop in feb with windows xp home edition and i want to do
a full restore but dont have a windows xp cd as they didnt give me one with
the laptop, i have tried to contact the company i brought the laptop from
and they say that they have sent me a new cd about 5 times and i still havent
got it please can some one help and possibly tell me how i can do it without
the cd.

there should be some
kind of faq and or downloads
from their website. If not, then
send a complaint to
the better business bureau
in the area were the vendor/mfg
is. Email address are avail online.

next go buy your own copy
of window xp and instead of restoration
to factory settings, you can repair your
o.s.

else, there is nothing you can do
to restore the laptop if you have nothing
to restore it with.

you could try to use someone else windows
setup cd and do a repair (not an install). Afterwards
if you had to use the key from that other cd, you
could change it back to the one pasted to the laptop.

First- why is it necessary to do a full restore. If you are having a
problem - state the symptoms - you may get assistance via this newsgroup.

The majority of laptops have a "restore" partition. Open My Computer to
check if your laptop has one. It may be labeled something like "restore
partition".
Also pay attention as computer boots - there may be "message" regarding
restore option e.g. F8, F11, etc.
