F6 does not work on my keyboard

I am installing Windows XP Home on my new PC that has a
SATA hard drive. During install I press F6 to be able to
load the drivers for my hard drive. I have now tried 4
other non-USM keyboards and the PC does nothing when F6 is
pressed, it just carries on installing, then has the
audacity to not recognise the hard drive. Please help
before I take the new PC to the Tip and use my XP CD as a
fishing lure!!!

If your keyboard has an F Lock key, did you try toggling its state?
