Extracting file properties of JPEGs using Windows XP

I am looking for software to convert data stored in windows file
properties into IPTC information or to just extract this data into a
text file.
Why I want to do this?

My parents have several thousands of photographs saved as jpegs and
added information in the title, subject, author, keywords, and
comments field in file properties using windows xp.

I want to burn a dvd-video with the information stored in the file
properties as switchable subtitle content. This should not be a
problem, but I can't extract the file properties in order to convert
them to text files. The only way I can think of is copy/pasting all
the information, but that is quite some work :(. I have tried all
sorts of metadata software and image database software, but still did
not come across a workable solution. Metadata miner catalogue pro
extracts the file properties field, but strangely enough it does not
work with jpg's.
Can anybody help me out?

Maybe this freebie will be useful to you:

Exifer For Windows

Thanks John,

I tried Exifer but it only displays EXIF and IPTC metadata (when I
used it that is). The data I need is stored by right-clicking the file
and selecting 'properties'. As far as I know this information is not
stored in the JPEG itself but in some Windows catalog. I might be
needing some XP-specific tool to extract the data rather than a
picture viewer program (only guessing here :))

You can download the free software:
http://www.irfanview.com/
Open the picture, click on Image>Information>Exif info, copy to clipboard.
Same for IPTC

That will copy the Exif data. The problem is that there is no Exif
data in the files, it's in the 'file properties field' which are not
saved in the JPEGs. I want to extract the windows xp file properties
fields. Impossible with Exifer if you ask me
