Extra beeping on bootup

A

Andy

I put together a used system from some parts. My Primary Drive 0 is 10
GB, Primary Drive 1 is 6 GB.

I also have a floppy and a CD Burner. When I boot up it's beeping with
a Secondary Hard Disk Drive 1 not found error message.

All the drives work fine.

I don't know if I have the cable hooked up wrong, wrong order, or who
knows what.

It's a modified Dell Optiplex 110. Does anyone have any ideas what's
wrong?

Thanks,
Andy

You problem is hardware related. More than one POST beep indicates an error
from the BIOS. Check the drive cables (power, data) be sure that the drive
is partitioned and formatted. Check the jumpers for correct master, slave,
and/or cable select settings.

For more information please post to an appropriate group. Be sure to let
them know your BIOS manufacturer, version number, and the number of beeps.
For example (Award v5.6g two short beeps).
