Hi
I just installed a USB external hdd. The computer recognises it and
says it is operating but no icon is showing up in the "my computer"
window. How do I find it to drag stuff onto it?
Cheers

You might want to try the following:

Go to Start -> Run and enter diskmgmt.msc in the Open box.
Click OK.
Look in the lower pane of Disk Management.
Is your external hard drive displayed?
If it's there, right click on it and see if it's partitioned.
If a partition exists, format it NTFS.

If it doesn't show up in Disk Management, try connecting it to
another USB port.

Good luck

I did as recommended.

The disk manager says it is partitioned as Master Boot Record (MBR).

I suspect I need to alter the jumper pin. Should I change it to slave
or cable select?
