external print servers

i have an A3 HP 1220c inkjet printer id like to put onto the network and
set it up on my win2k server so i can use a logon script to install the
printer to the users, also a small brother laser a HL1230 i think ..
both in same location

i tried this using a netgear PS110 print server but it had all sorts of
problems with jobs locking up for no apparent reason with the error
message appearing on the server where no one had access to do anything
about it apart from me

what is a good reliable solution - are HP branded external print servers
the way to go for this?

I would look at solving the lockup problem, rather than investing in an
expensive solution that may not work.

I run 12 netgear Print Servers with HP and Epson Inkjets, and have no issues
what so ever.

I would look at updating drivers for the printers. Also check all settings
for device properties on the server and make sure they are correct.
