I have a external 5.25 floppy, Tandy #25-1087, that uses a lpt connector and
separate power supply that I don't have, RS web site says it requires 12VAC,
is that right? alternating current?
I opened it up to find the controller board was made my Micro Solutions Inc,
checking their website just hoping for more info, and noted their modern
Back Pack drives can also useD.C., direct current, can this also apply to
this unit?
Yes I have already posted at comp.sys.tandy.
I'm just hoping you folks may have some insight to this matter.
Thank you for your time.

With some help from a member here I have now found the correct power supply
and the new drive runs great, thank you.

Is there any chance you might want to sell this external floppy drive? I currently have a need for one, and would pay $50.00 (or more, depending on condition) plus shipping costs.

I have the same disk drive too.
Can you tell me the exact power supply that I need?

You thought Douglas was still monitoring his thread after *TEN YEARS*?
Watch the datestamps on posts to which you reply.

But if he was still monitoring the group, wouldn't he have seen the thread?

Perhaps *if* he was a regular inhabitant. Since most posts are
first-time users asking for help, they don't return after they've gotten
a solution and didn't get any help here.

In the Google Groups copy of the ancient thread, click on the down-arrow
at the right of Douglas' post. Select "Activity". See anything of
Douglas shown past 2003? Yes, he could be lurking here.

Since Douglas got a solution but it was obviously taken offline via
e-mail (there is nothing in the thread showing Douglas got help "with
some help from a member here"), since the thread is over 10 years old,
and Douglas has not posted here since, you want to take bets on Douglas
seeing these responses in his ancient thread?
