Extension Antenna for Wireless Card

One of my machines at the far end of the house is not getting enough
signal to its wireless card antenna (Belkin.) I think I remember
seeing, a long time ago, either a card with an extendable antenna or an
add on antenna. (I'm not sure the Belkin will let me remove its antenna
and replace it with another so I guess I have to get a new card.)

If I temporarily turn the computer around so the back faces the
wireless router and the front the wall, every thing is fine. However,
permanently relocating the computer is not a option. Nor can I
reposition the wireless/router/DSL (Westell VersaLink) enough to
increase the signal at the problem computer.

Can someone suggest a card I can put in the computer that will allow me
to position the antenna to a better location, say on the top of desk or
computer?

I hope I have made my problem clear.

Thank you.

You ought to check whether the Belkin antenna is detachable.
Some come with external antenna, browse the offerings at the
following 'site link if that's what you want but I'd try an
add-on antenna, always nice to have one for who-knows-what
else your wlan might end up doing,

I believe I have seen something called a range extender for wireless
routers. Check out Linksys, and the others.

Thank you.

I am embarrassed to say that I finally did what I should have done in
the first place. I Googled the subject and found several antennas that
would work with my Belkin including one on Belkins's own site. It is on
its way from San Jose right now.

Thanks again.
