Macro Eliminator

I installed the new version of antispyware and it didn't
update my version,it didn't extend my expiration
dat5e,and it didn't get any new capilabilites. And the
installation was a success. It even said it was still beta
1.

It's still at beta stage alright. There is no final
release yet as far as I know or microsoft would not have
extended the expiring date for another 6 months
to "12/31/2005" for that matter.

Though the installation may say is a success it actually
is not. For some strange reason, caching or whatever it is
the setup file you downloaded (from micosoft website) is
not the actual updated 614 version.

If your installation actually succeed you should see
this " Microsoft AntiSpyware Version: 1.0.614
This version expires on: 12/31/2005
Spyware Definition Version: 5729"

Try download from majorgeeks.com at the following link.
There are a few mirror sites, make your choice. Save the
setup file on your desktop. Right click and look at its
property. It should be 6.50MB in size, File version
9.0.333.0 with Digital Signature Time Stamp Saturday, June
25, 2005...

I believe you should get things straighten out if the
setup file's property you see is what I had mentioned
above. Once affirmed, start the installation and check for
update from Definition version: 5727 to 5729.

That's news to me, too, although it seems to me that I might have seen this
before (i.e. earlier builds)--I don't like it, but maybe it is part of some
corporate detente process,

I have the same problem.
Can someone help please?

Hi

Go to www.microsoft.com

Look for "Popular Downloads".

Follow antispyware link and download MSAS again.
Do NOT run it, Save it and remember where it is saved.

Go to add/remove programs and uninstall MSAS.

Open Windows Explorer, delete Program files / Microsoft Antispyware

Install MSAS again with the file you downloaded.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After install, its a bug with latest definition update.

Right click on MSAS icon within systray and choose shutdown.

Right click and "Save target as..."

Copy/paste these files to Program files/Microsoft Antispyware

Restart MSAS and "check for updates"

Over and out and also look at www.microsoft.com/protect
