exporting speed compared to other movie editing software

I am a Mac user at school and PC at home. I use imove
and love the ease, but wanted to try MM2 for home. I
have scanned 200 pictures and have been making a slide
show for my grandmother's 90th. I find MM2 fairly
comparable to imovie until it is time to export to DV.
It takes forever! Or am I doing something wrong? A 20
min. movie took @ 40 min to get back on to the DV??? Why?
In imovie the export just takes as long as the movie. Has
anyone used another movie editing program that they feel
is better than MM2??

Thank you to everyone, I find this resourse extremely
valuable:)

I eXPerience that excruciating long wait as well. Hmmm.
I'm wondering how long it's going to take when I finish
this 45 minute movie I'm working on!!!

Rendering takes time. Better rendering takes more time. If you want quality,
there's no hurry.

Faster is better - if the quality is the same. Not having a Mac or iMovie, I
don't know if you can compare the two.

Movie Maker is doing some post processing on your images. This post
processing takes some time, but it dramaticcaly improves the viewing
experience of still images on a TV.
