Exporting Access table to Dbase

Because I have a file that will require more space than allocated by Access,
I am attempting to create a dBase file to work with. When attempting to
export I receive the following error:

"is not a valid name. Make sure that it does nto include invalid characters
or punctuaiton and that it is not too long.

If I select OK. Then any attempt to access any object I receive the
following errors:

Object invalid or no longer set.

Reserved error (-11040; there is no message for this error.

I would prefer to run my append queries direct to dBase but am not
exprienced in the use of any application that goes direct...Any help would be
appreciated.

A couple of things to keep in mind:
The file name must be in the old DOS 8.3 format.
No long file names allowed.

Also, each field name must be 10 characters or less - no odd characters
allowed.
