Exporting Access file to CD for use on computer without Access

Can an Access file that I create be exported to a CD for someone to use who
doesn't have Access on their computer? I want the user to be able to use the
front-end such as typing in a term and then having Access present the various
lines of data that contain that term. I don't want the end-user to be able
to create or manipulate Access as one can do having the Access program on
their computer.

If you're familiar with Powerpoint, one can export a file to a CD and then
the end user can watch the slideshow but never be able to manipulate the
files as if they had Poweroint on their computer. This is what I want Access
to do.

I have been told that Access windows can be inserted into web pages. Is
there software embedded in Internet Explorer that would make Access work for
the user? So if I could export the Access files I create that are inserted
into an html page to a CD, the user could open it in a webpage. Is that
possible?

If Access can't be exported, can you recommend software that works like
Access but is exportable and doesn't require the person to have Access on
their computer.

TIA

In a word: No.

However it is possible to create a run-time version of Access and your
database. It would NOT run off a CD; however, it can be installed from a CD.
For Access 2003 and earlier, the software to do this costs some money.

Access 2007 is suppose to have a download available soon that will do this
for free. I'd wonder if it could still be done with just a CD or will it
require a DVD to fit everything.

Now if this person is on your network OR you have access (pun intended) to a
web server, you could create a Data Access Page, under Pages in the objects
bar, with which they could view and enter data on your database.
