Export query to .txt file

In Access 2000, I export a query to a .txt file and then use the Advanced tab
to select Specs and apply 80-column formatting. I now have Access 2003 and
the Advanced tab never loads the Userdata Export Specification screen. Any
solution?

You can create a report that makes the desired output format, then dump that
to .txt.
(This was an old hack that I used to have to use in the Paradox for DOS
days.)

But, I'm confused, as I tried to export a table from A2k3 and the Export
Text Wizard was displayed, which has the Advanced button on it, which allows
the saving of the Spec. So, clarify your second sentence, and we'll see
what we can do.

As an FYI, this newsgroups is for SQL Queries, so there may be an Access
newsgroup that is better suited towards import/Export problems.

This is my actual process: I have a query that I choose to export and select
..txt file type, then the Export button. The Export Text Wizard screen comes
up and I should select the Advanced tab, then Specs, and I have a spec set up
for 80-column formatting that is applied when it saves as a .txt file. The
..txt file is then uploaded to a main frame system.
Since I upgraded to Access 2003, the Advanced tab noted above locks up so I
can't load my Specs 80-column format.
