hal- sorry, but I only get the one choice. I am on an xchange server (the 03
machine is my work PC)...is that a clue? is this something that would be
controlled by our IT dept?

an add on question then: is there any compatability issues between
versions
of O? I need to bring over pst files from O-2003 into O-2002.

That's not possible. OL 2003/7 PSTs cannot be read by OL 2002 and earlier.
You'll first have to convert them to ANSI PSTs before you bring them over.
In OL 2003, click FIle>New>Outlook Data File. Select :Outlook 97-2002
Personal Folders File (.pst)" in the "Type of storage" box and click OK.
Browse to where you want the file created (or accept the default), give it a
name (or accept the default) and click OK. Give it a display name (or
accept the default - but I'd change it) and click OK. This will add another
folder root to your Navigation pane.

For every folder in the old PST, right-click the folder and drag it to the
root of the new PST. Release the mouse button and choose Copy. When you're
done, you'll have an OL 2002-compatible PST that is a duplicate of the 2003
PST. Right-click the root and choose Close. Close Outlook. You can then
transfer that PST to the system where OL 2002 resides.
