Export/Import

I'm trying to export messages so I can import to another computer. Everytime
I select an external drive (USB, HD, etc) I get an export error indicating
the drive may be full or sometihng is wrong with the files. If I export to
same PC, it works but when I try to copy and paste on external USB/HD I am
asked if I want to go ahead when all properties are not transferrable. When I
go ahead and import messages on othr PC, I get mail entries in the various
boxes but no mail info.

Can someone help me with the export/import function?

Windows Mail can't export to an external drive.
I suggest you use a free third party program:

Just copy the entire message store directory to a directory under Documents.
Then you can copy from there onto an external drive. See here for

I went to http://www.staticbackup.com/products.htm#swmbf , downloaded and
made backup of mail. Then I went to othr machine, downloaded software and
restored mail.

Now when WM goes thru send/receive process I get a window similar to OE/OL
that reports some errors occurred while processing the requested tasks.
Review list of errors below for details. Problem is there are no errors
listed below. In the Tasks tab the send / receive entries are there but the
status column is empty. The progress bar is empty or filled w/green but
nothing happens, it just sits there.

I can send but not receive email.

In addition, I now get a box up requesting user name and password, this was
not happening prior to loading software and restoring email. I removed
software and that had no effect on the issues above. Does anyone have a clue
as to what is going on and what I can do to resolve?
