Yes you certainly can. To back them up, you'll simply need to backup
the folders that
contain them by clicking Start, then Run, type:
%appdata%\Microsoft\MSN Messenger
and click OK.
You'll be presented with a folder or folders with various numbers, each
of these folders will
denote a Passport that has signed in and contained within each folder
will be an
CustomEmoticons folder.
Alternatively, you can use an application to do this for you. See he
