My PC seems to go very slow so I ran RegMon from System Internals.
A large proportion of the activity during a slowdown is explorer
qyerying values in a key which is to do with User Assistant for
Active desktop.
I have never enabled active desktop. Yet the system seems to go
through every single program I have got installed. (See an example
below.)
Can I prevent this wasteful activity on my PC?
--------
One example key is this:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\UserAssist\{7
5048700-EF1F-11D0-9888-006097DEACF9}\Count\UEME_RUNPATH:C:\Program
Files\AntiVir PE\AVWIN.EXE
Where "75048700-EF1F-11D0-9888-006097DEACF9" is to do with Active
desktop.
