explorer shutting down with activex control

when on the internet some sites i go on have a box pop up that say's click to
run activex control, when i do this explorer just shuts down, is there
anybody out there that can tell me how to stop this happening

Don't click on things that you don't know what they are.

Update your antivirus software and run a full system scan.

Update whatever anti-spyware applications that you have and run a full
system scan with each one.

You might want to start in Safe Mode to run your antivirus and anti-spyware
software.

Running a full system antivirus scan or anti-spyware scan in Safe Mode can
be a good idea. Some viruses and other malware like to conceal themselves
in areas Windows protects while using them. Safe mode will prevent those
applications access and therefore unprotect the viruses or other malware
allowing for easier removal.

Tried what you suggested but has'nt stopped the problem. i spend alot of time
on myspace which is where im mainly getting this problem, and it is being a
problem!! im on myspace cause of my band, when we get people joining as
friends i need to access there site's so i can reply and keep them interested
in us, im coming accross more and more sites now that have this 'ok' box pop
up saying 'click to run activex controls', once that pops up i have no way
out, i have to click the ok button for anything to work at all and when i do
explorer just shuts down, its driving me round the bend, iv even down loaded
an up to date version of norton but still the prolem persists, can anyone
help before i go mad!!!!

i am having the same .. exact.. problem...i've tried searching fro a
sollution...but can not find anything???
