Explorer only displays the web page at half size

How do I tell my Windows 2000 OS to display web pages at
their full size? When I click on internet explorer, the
web pages come up and are formatted to fit top to bottom,
but there is at least two to three inches of blank space
on either side. The web page is centered in the middle of
my screen. I want the web pages to expand to fit the
entire screen. Thanks!

Open such a link.
Don't use the maximize button.
Stretch the edges/corners so that the window fills the screen.
Close all other IE windows.
Close the stretched window last.

It may also be a driver issues with the Screen resolution you are using.
