Explorer error on Win98 client with Server 2003

Hi All,

I have configured a new server 2003 box with DNS, DHCP, AD, etc. Most
things seem to be working fine. I had to install DSClient on the
Win98 clients in order for them to attach to the domain properly, but
now things are working as I expected.

There is, however, one problem that I cannot resolve. Many, but not
all, of my Win98 clients are displaying a constant explorer error
(Windows Explorer? Internet Explorer?) when I login as a particular
user. The system works fine, (applications load, documents print,
etc) with the exception of this very pesky, frequently displaying
error message. Other users that logon at the same computer have no
problems, and the problem user does not always see the error on other
machines.

I thought it might be a rights or permissions issue, but why on only
some machines?

Is there something I have missed?

cheers,
Mark

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the quick response.

I cannot give you the actual error msg right now - its at a client site and
I have left for the day - but it is the standard two line msg that appears
when there is some sort of exception.

Here's the strange thing. This user logged on OK over the week-end and
earlier today. Now, later this afternoon, I have other users who are
receiving the same error.
The error msg re-displays as soon as you click the cancel button (only
button).
Other users on the same machine work fine, so I do not believe it is an O/S
install problem. The server was replaced over the week-end and today is the
first day of any real use.

cheers,
Mark
