Explorer Details

I tired of having to change to "Details" from "Large
Icons" every time I go into explorer. Is there any way to
set my "Explorer" so that no matter where I open it or
when I open it, it's always set to "Details".

P.S. Why does it always open to the C drive being
expanded out? I'm also tired of having to hit the minus (-
) sign on "Local Disk (C:) to pick another drive.

Tire no more ;)

1.) Explorer|View|Details Then Explorer|Tools|Folder Options|View, then
"Like Current Folder". Depending on your likings, you may also need to check
"Remember each folder's view settings"

2.) Edit the shortcut's "Target" to read
%systemroot%\explorer.exe /e,::{208D2C60-3AEA-1069-A2D7-08002B30309D}

Excellent on both #1 and #2. What can I add to the line
in #2 put expand out my "My Computer". That way I can
easily click on my network drives.

Thanks for all your help.

That first string was a mistake.

Edit the shortcut's "Target" to read
%systemroot%\explorer.exe /e,::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

Ah that's a nice shortcut Dave. It opens with My Network Places expanded here. Was that right?

Yes I went and saw the correct one. You know I'd like My Computer to open in the same fashion. That is with Folder view enabled. Do you know how that can be done when dbl-clicking on My Computer?

Not a problem. Explorer|Tools|Folder Options|File Types|"folder"|Advanced
and set the default "Action:" to "explore"

Well Dave now Control Panel when double-clicking on applet opens in a new window. I don't want that. All I wanted was double-clicking My Computer to default to folder view. I didn't want anything else. But that's how it is. So I want to go back to the way it was. I see that is easier said then done. For once the default has been set there uner "folder" for "explore" there is no way to go back to Not default for "explore." The only thing I can see is to delete "explore" and of course that seems kind of dangerous. Do you know how to turn OFF explore as the default? I could set "open" to default. Do you think that is what to do because neither was set as a default when I asked the question earlier. Thanks.

Yes, to change it back set "open" to default
