Explorer 6 still hanging after repair scan

Hi, I've been having a problem for a while now with explorer 6, a few months
ago I started experiencing problems right after I tried a hijackthis
program, just because I didn't want this toolbar left in my explorer
display, or what was left of it. Now since then everything has been running
just fine in windows, sp2 update the whole thing except Explorer. Everytime
I try to save (file, save as" a jpeg or bmp, just after I hit "save"
explorer hangs on me, the hd light just staying on constantly until I
usually have to go into task manager hit "end now" meaning I can't seem to
save anything. I know I don't have a virus because I've ran Norton 2005 in
safe mode, ran adaware, spybot, with all updated definitions. I have my
firewall on all the time. Have done disk error checks, defrags. I've
always kept good care of the comp and I don't know why this one thing keeps
happening, it's only in explorer. I've tried the first method Microsoft
recommends to repair explorer sfc /scannow I haven't tried the second which
says to look for ie.inf then it copies all the files again. So if anyone
has any idea's, it's not sp2 because I went to the work of uninstalling sp2
trying it in sp1, reinstalled sp2, everything's ok again, but explorer still
hangs!! This is the error report
WER33ba.dir00\iexplore.exe.mdmp

WER33ba.dir00\appcompat.txt

I'm running a P4 1.4 ghz, 768 RAM, Nividia 5600 128 meg

I read somewhere it might be a video driver but I really don't think so
because it doesn't happen in other programs.

Problems with saving files are usually associated with problems
with the TIF folder. You haven't mentioned if you tried deleting it
(so its index.dat can be reinitialized.) Just deleting all files using
the Internet Options, Delete Files... and all offline content may be
sufficient if you haven't yet tried that or moving the TIF to a different
directory or volume may also be sufficient; otherwise you will need
to use a different account or different partition to allow the whole
folder to be deleted.

Good luck
