Expanding the taskbar to the second monitor

Michael

Hey all..

I just changed from XP to Vista and i cant expand the taskbar to my second
monitor anymore. The taskbar is only in the main-monitor. I have an Geforce
6600GT and installed the latest Vista-drivers, but under Vista the default
Nvidia display properties panel is missing. .. i dont know why.. I made a
clean install.

I found the option to expand my desktop to the second monitor, but i can't
find the option to expand the taskbar aswell.

Any help is much appreciated!
regards, Micheal

Has nVidia released final drivers? I think that the present Vista drivers
are beta and do not yet support all functionality.

I use Ultramon. It gives you a second smart taskbar, which can show only
the apps/windows that are actually on that monitor, as well as a lot of
other things to do with multiple screens. The current version doesn't have
all the features enabled with Vista yet, like different wallpapers and
screensavers on each screen, but there should be a new version soon.

The gallery has some pretty crazy multimonitor setups, including my own..

I am using these:
96.85_forceware_winvista_x86_international_whql.exe
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_96.85.html

Yes, there is still the beta notice.. i hope they will put that feature back
in once they release a final. My taskbar is currently overloading : ).. i am
not used to live without it.

Thanks for the hint. I will look out for the next release then.

Yes, but it was possible under XP .. my question was how to get it back in
Vista.

Under XP i had the Start-Button on the first montior and the Tray/Time on
the second monitor. I had my taskbar expanded.. I refuse to belief that this
ain't possible under Vista.. Any ideas how i can get this feature back?

Thanks in advance.

You can't "move" the taskbar, you can only designate one monitor or the
other as the primary and the taskbar appears on the primary monitor.

Hello I have vista with dual monitors... on both of the boxes I have here...
One PC has ATI and the other Nvidia...
To get the taskbar on both monitors I use ultramon (the latest edition)...
Its not free but you may install the trial until nvidia fixes the drivers...
