exchange won't let outlook open

I'm opening Outlook 2003 on this XP-pro machine, to create a new account for
my pop3 email account. Everytime I try to open Outlook, before it even gets
to the "Welcome to Outlook" message, I get a message saying that a name
couldn't be resolved with the exchange server. When I do anything, whether
trying to reconcile the name (I am not a part of that exchange server
anymore), or canceling, the end result is always Outlook closing, without any
other option. How do I get around this, or turn off searching for the
exchange server?

I haven't used Outlook 2003 yet.

Use the mail applet in the control panel to delete the existing mail profile
and/or create a new one with your POP3 account.
