Excessive CPU USAGE?!

I recently encountered a link spam virus on aim. I destroyed the virus using
AVG trial version and by deleting temp files. Ever since I have put away the
virus I now get popups on aim that were blocked before. I also get a few
more popups on internet explorer. The major problem I am concerned with
however is that of cpu usage. When my computer is idle with no programs and
has the following processes running (some of which i am sure are not
suppossed to be there and that i do not use but am not aware of how to get
rid of) my cpu usage jumps sporadically at intervals of about 1 1/1 secs from
0% usage to 24% usage and the hour glass shows up on my curser. How do I fix
this usage and how can I stop these aim popups?

Youre looking in services.msc,you really should R.click on the task bar and
select task mgr.View processes running,write down unknowns,then in my
computer,search for the .exe for that item.Open the running tasks tab in task
mgr also.Also,you must not be running SP2,or the pop-up blocker is turned
off in internet options,turn on.
