excel

i'm having difficulty opening up excel and then when it
finally opens it takes a long time to open up a file
this problem just started today 1-8-04
any help would be appreciated

This is caused by the latest Norton AV upgrade to the Office plug-in.
Either

1) Disable NAV
2) Go to Internet explorer, Tools, Internet Options< Advanced and uncheck
the two entries, Check for publishers certificate revocation, check for
server certificates revocation. Restart and it should be OK.

Check back to NAV site for a more permanent solution as this will disable
checking of all security certs in IE
