excel spreadsheet to word

I am trying to copy an excel spreadsheet into a word document.
Each I try the excel spreadsheet changes size or looks different afte
I transfer or copy it to word.
Should I be doing something to prepare it to be copied?
I have in the past converted formulas to values and etc.
I just want to keep the spreadsheet on one page.
What am I doing wrong

If you haven't already, try using
Insert >> Object >> Create from file
in Word, and browse to the excel spreadsheet.

For me, this approach gives the most trouble-free appearance.
