Excel should support the ISO standard date format

ISO 8601 standardizes the format of dates written using only numbers. Excel
2003 does not support this format, so I have to write dates as text. This
sucks.

As an Excel date is just a serial number, it can support all manner of date
formats.

A simple response to changing excel date format to ISO8601
I'm using excel and need to change a date format dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm into the ISO8601 format of yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm
Thanks to a previous response I tried using the custom format function in excel and its super easy. Click on the cell or column you want to reformat>right click> format cells> custom. There's a spot there to type in called "Type:" Click in the box and type it in, in my case I typed "yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm" and it did just that! Wow.
