Excel save as problem

Hi all

I have a very interesting problem on a few of my supported computers.

In Excel by default when I open a file from a location (for example Z:\test)
and I try to save a copy of this file with save as then in the save as window
the deffault path will be where the original file is (Z:\test).

Since a few days ago when the users click on save as, then the default save
as location will be the "Default file location".

Is there a way to change this setting back to default?

Thank You for Your help in advance

Hi,

- Goto "Tools->Options" Menu

- Click on "General" Tab

- Change the location, whatever you wish in "Default file location:"

This may be version dependent and you didn't mention the version of Excel
you have, but a dword registry key named:

AlwaysSaveToCurrentPath

under:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Excel\Options

(where the "9.0" should be adjusted to your version) when set to zero will
default an opened workbook to "save as" the same folder it was opened from
(rather than the current folder).

Thank You for Your help.

I created the key in the registry and it has solved my problem.

Kind Regards
