Excel (OFFICE XP STANDARD with SP3) File and print option greyed o

Office Excel has its file and print icon greyed out.
Unable to print document or save.

File drop down menu and print Iconn shows up under WORD,POWERPOINT,OUTLOOK
etc,etc,etc

I Uninstalled then reisntalled the Offcie XP platform and has same symptoms.

I also tried the add/remove repiar function and still did not work.

I also tried uninstalling Office then running system mechanic 5 registry
repair.
I made sure Office was completly removed from registry and folders.

This PC also has ACCESS installed which I did not touch and it is also
working just fine.

I found the answer.
The user has badget 2004/2005 installed and is running from a networked drive.
The user hits X to exit the program. The user must not do this.
The user must exit the program the proper way then excell will open normally.
