Excel Menus Removed

I built an excel application that uses some ADO procedures
to extract information from a database. In the
application, all menus and bars are removed. All that
shows is essentailly drop down boxes, a command button,
and a graph. When the user selects the appropriate values
that they want to see in the graph via the drop boxes,
they hit the command button which retrieves the data, and
the data is then displayed on the graph. All this works
well, however, after the user clicks the command button to
execute some ADO code, a thick line appears where the menu
bar once was. I have tried to do some screen updating
commands to make the bar not appear in the first place,
however, this did not work.

Any suggestions on how to remove the the thick line at the
top of the spreadsheet where the menus once were? I do
not know what's putting the line there or how to remove it.

Thanks,
rbl

I hate when my Excel settings are changed, especially when things are
disabled in this way. I hope you are re-enabling everything when users
switch to another open workbook, otherwise they will hate you and stop
using your software.

What about a different approach? You could put your controls and graph
on a userform and while you are showing it (modally) you could make
the Excel app invisible i.e. zero menus, toolbars and thick black
lines on display.
