Excel Icon Not on Desktop or in Programs List?

I purchased this computer with Office installed, and I can open Word and
Excel docs from My Computer or My Documents, but neither Word or Excel can be
found in my Start->All Programs menu or on the desktop. How can I create a
shortcut for these? I can't find any executable files in My Computer. Could
they be hidden somehow?

In the application, clicking Help, Detect and Repair should restore the
standard Shortcuts.
