Excel files don't launch since installing MS-Money 2003

I installed Microsoft Money 2003 and now Excel
opens "empty" whenever I double-click on .xls or .csv
files. It's really painful - I now have to launch Excel,
then click File, Open, drill down to the directory of the
file I need (adds about 30-45 seconds to each file I need
to view/edit).

I've installed all the Microsoft updates and even
reinstalled MS Office 2000 Prof., but it doesn't help.

Thanks,

RB

Hi RB
Try this:
Close Excel
Start, Run :
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Excel.exe" /REGSERVER

This will initialize Excel registry entries.

Thanks for the suggestion - but I'm still seeing the
problem. I did reboot afterwards to be sure your
suggestion could kick in - no help. I just tried launching
an .xls file from an email attachment that I had
attached from the My Documents folder - got an error
that it couldn't find the file in the very directory
I made the attachment from - a clue, but not sure of
the solution.

Thanks!!
