Excel falls over when I try to underline the contents of a cell?

And when it falls over, what does it say?

Does it fall over for every workbook, or just one or a few?

Hi JEM - thanks for replying - its very strange: when I format a cell e.g.
underline using CTRL & U or make a cell bold CTRL & B, also when I
haighlighted a print range using the icon these actions all had the same
effect which is that the excel file doesn't respond, the egg timer comes up
and eventually when I check windows task manager after 5 minutes it just says
that all excel files that were open do not respond, so I have to shut them
down.

I've never seen this before?

If you could shed any light on this I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

One of the things excel and all(?) windows programs do is go get information
from the printer driver to determine how things should look on the screen.

If you change to a different printer (or even install a different printer
driver), does it work ok?

You don't have to have another physical printer to test--just load the printer
driver and use that.

If you're using a network printer, maybe installing the driver locally will
help.
