Excel does not open files from Windows

Hello,

Since couple of days, it seems it happens after an upgrade, but I am not
sure about.

I have the following problems with Excel 2007, whenever I try to open an
Excel file from the explorer, I receive an error message that "Windows cannot
find "Drive letter:\then file path" exactly where the file is located. Excel
opens but does not show the file. When I open it through Excel, it just work
fine. This happens only with Excel, I don't have this problem with Word,
Access, Powerpoint, Publisher. I have seen that some are experiencing the
same kind of problems with Word.

Anyone as a solution as it is quite annoying?

Thanks

Round button, Excel Options, Advanced, scroll all the way down to General,
untick Ignore other Applications............
