Excel 2007 not showing imported numbers in pivot table

I am importing an MS Access 2007 .mdb table into Excel 2007 as a pivot table.
When I include bookings in the Values section and change display type from
count to sum, I see 0.00.

One issue I discovered is that Excel is importing numbers as text, which I
think is a bug. When I use error checking to correct, by converting "number
stored as text" to number, I am still unable to see bookings values in the
pivot.

Any idea of what's going on and how to correct?
Thanks

Solution: The problem was in the MS Access 2007 .mdb data type.

When I created my Make Table query, the data type defaulted to text rather
than the number data type of the Access 2003 source .mdb from which I pulled
the data.

That appears to be a compatability bug between Access 2007 and Access 2003
that it doesn't hold the data types. The workaround is to first create the
table and data types in Access 2007 and then use Apend qureries.

Cheers,
Garth
